Here's to the Ladies Who Lunch- Made me laugh. Interesting subject matter well executed.
Lavender Maze - Good abstract flow. Having the green pieces where they aren't expected works well.
Purple Bounty - Bright, happy colors are executed very well. Interesting treatment of the roots. Good color harmony.
Petals Afloat - Exhibited an excellent sense of composition.
I love watercolor because it is a “risk-taking” medium. It is all about keeping the transparency, glow and light. This is the challenging and sometimes elusive part of a successful watercolor.
I have been striving to achieve my technique for more than 25 years, developing my skills in college, first as an art major and today through the Glassell School, Museum of Fine Arts in Houston and the Watercolor Art Society. Attending selected workshops throughout the country with well-known and gifted artists has helped further refine my particular style of painting--the use of intense colors and contrast while maintaining the unique elements of watercolor.
My work is frequently exhibited at the Watercolor Art Society in Houston and in June 2012 two paintings were accepted for the “Final Exam” exhibit at the Canal Street Gallery in Houston. In 2015 and 2016, two of my paintings were accepted into the International Watercolor Exhibit/WAS-H.
